so i have decided to start a cookiemaxxing grindset to get rid of it

Violence and/or aggression seems to be sexually attractive to many people, it's not inherently wrong. If you are in the good books of such a person they could harm those that would harm you. People into that are psychologically looking for a protector.

There's also the 'bridge effect', based on an experiment where men would cross a bridge to then speak to a female reporter. If they walked over a scary suspension bridge they would find her more attractive, because the physiological arousal of fear was mistaken for sexual arousal. The threat of danger makes one more horny.

finally officially added the mv cat to my site
i wasnt satisfied with its look before, but now i think its p cool

i read a bit about the IRC spec
making a bouncer is slightly more involved than i first thought
ill have to at least pretend to lowkey be a server so when the client connects, since it needs to receive the loredump of server welcome messages
and keep a buffer of server messages while the client is offline
and occasionally reply to server PINGs with a PONG
im not sure if there are other types of server msgs that the bouncer would need to reply to immediately while the client is offline
and it is possible that some msg types will need to be modified when relayed to the client if they are received while it is offline
like im p sure theres a way to add a timestamp to a chat message so the client wont think it was sent literally this very instant when it receives it 5h later
other than that, ig its just a mitm while the client is online, which was easy to implement

i just realized that my router only supports 100Mb connections
this whole time my LAN speeds were capped at ~12MB/s and i thought it was bc my old computers had equally old NICs
but today i decided to take a better look at this and turns out they can go up to 1Gbit/s
if i hook them up directly (no crossover needed) i can get over 70MB/s (i can only assume there is some overhead due to ssh bc the limit of 1000Mb/s should be around 125MB/s)
this changes EVERYTHING
i was thinking of moving some files to a different disk, but the computer that is storing them already has all SATA slots plugged up and i cant really disconnect anything without [SUFFERING THE CONSEQUENCES] so id have to transfer through another compy
transfering 1TB at 12MB/s would take all my youthful years
but at 70MB/s i can just leave it running while i take a nap

oh and why are you using ssh if ur transferring shit in your own LAN? there are some switches that turn off like compression and there are other encryption algorithms that could make it run faster but idk i didnt really look into it

my router is probably powered by some proprietary OS, so i don't want to have to trust that it is not sending all internal traffic directly to the NSA
i have already looked into libre OSes for routers, but the process of screening models that can be flashed looks like as big a pain in the ass as doing it with phones
but yea i don't really need encryption when the only thing between the 2 computers is a cable (inb4 the glowies already figured out how to remotely compromise copper wires)
i only used ssh bc thats the way im used to using rsync tbh
but apparently theres a way to run rsync as a standalone daemon, so it prolly has less overhead than using it over ssh
im gonna check that out now

one botched kernel upgrade

so i rebooted my server after updating its kernel and ofc it wasnt working anymore
i got as far as doing a remote login to the initramfs shell, but apparently some kernel modules were borked along the way bc i couldn't unlock the root fs
sth wrong with device mapper, idfk man...
at this point im so proficient at dealing with broken system upgrades that i didnt even flinch
i mounted everything on my main computer, extracted the previous kernel package's boot dir, and manually recreated the boot partition for the old ver
good thing i didnt delete the previous initramfs, otherwise things could have gotten ugly
just another day of using a diy distro

first thing it does when i try to install it is nuke my partition table
it doesnt explain that picking 'gpt' means it will create its own gpt table, rather than use the one that already exists
and ofc it immediately writes it to disk instead of being sane like debian and giving you a chance to not commit it
i had 5 other OSes installed already
and common partitions for /home, /var, /usr/local, /boot and swap so they can all share
it was gonna fit well with obsd since they recommend separate partitions by default in their installation page
good thing i remember the size and order of every partition so i recreated it with gpart on freebsd's installer (the unautistic big brother)
and this time i saved the table to a file
also i marked its partition with the "OpenBSD Data" type and good thing it recognized it and let me use that for its own autistic partition scheme
ig obsd fags like partitioning shit so much that they partition the partition
supposedly there is a way to have grub2 boot to obsd, but it doesnt work
at least they both exist as separate UEFI boot entries
and i can manually reset it in case anything fucks it up
